Amangani - FACTS AND INFORMATION


Description

Amangani, located on the edge of East Gros Ventre Butte Jackson Hole, near Yellowstone National Park, has a magnificent view of the grand Tetons and Snake River Valley below. It is a year-round destination acting as a premier ski resort from December through March, and the ideal base for exploring the magnificent natural surroundings in the warmer months.

The year-round temperature range is 2°F to 25°F (January), 22°F to 48°F (April), 41°F to 81°F (July) and 24°F to 57°F (October).

Language
English is the most common language.

Currency
The dollar is the unit of currency in the USA. Money changers and ATMs can be found at local banks. Amangani also facilitates currency exchange at a service fee of 5%.

Health
A house doctor is available at Amangani. The nearest clinic is approximately 10 minutes away and the closest hospital is in the town of Jackson, about 10 - 15 minutes drive to the resort.

Electricity
110 volts/ 60 cycles. Converters for 220-volt appliances as well as plug adaptors are available.

Spa

Amangani’s Spa and Fitness Centre features two exercise studios, four treatment rooms and separate steam rooms for men and women. A variety of one-on-one programmes are offered in the Wellness Studio, including Body Shaping, FitBall training, yoga, Active Isolated Stretching and personal training. The Fitness Centre is equipped with two ellipticals, one recumbent bike and two treadmills. Free weights and an exercise station are also available. Both exercise studios are finished in redwood and offer views over the swimming pool and the valley to the Snake River Range beyond.

The Spa’s treatment menu includes a range of massages, facials and healing therapies. In the wet room, mud, salt and seaweed body treatments are available. Manicures and pedicures are offered in the Beauty Salon.

Both the men’s and women’s steam rooms feature slate floors and walls. Treatments can be enjoyed within the steam rooms.

Massages and other treatments as well as fitness sessions can be enjoyed by the swimming pool or in the privacy of guest suites.

Water Pavilion
The water pavilion offers hydrotherapy treatments. Beyond the large reception lounge is an outside area containing a stone-lined, step-pool (heated in winter) with magnificent desert views. Also on offer are a steam room, dry sauna and cold plunge pool.

Floatation Pavilion
During floatation therapy the water and air temperature match the body temperature and this assists in quieting sensory stimulation, allowing for an internal focus that is highly meditative.

Treatment Rooms & Terraces
The spa offers five treatment rooms (one double and four single) and each features a dressing room, treatment area, steam shower and bathroom.
The couple’s suite offers open-air views of the surrounding mesas. There are also two outdoor treatment terraces providing beautiful desert views.

Fitness Centre, Yoga Pavilion & Pilates Studio
The spacious, light-filled fitness centre is equipped with the latest in cardiovascular and weighttraining machinery, while the yoga pavilion features elegant bamboo floors and views of a mesa wall. The Pilates studio is fully equipped with reformers and other Pilates-specific equipment.

Salon
Offering manicures and pedicures, the salon is the ideal venue in which to finish a visit to the spa.

SNOWCAT POWDER SKIING
For adventure skiers, snowcats take guests to the thigh-high powder at the top of Peaked Mountain, the summit of a 732-metre (2,400-foot) vertical drop where skiers can expect to fit in eight to 10 runs a day.

DOG-SLEDDING
Dog-sledding is a popular winter activity. Half-day and full-day treks take you through the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
